SEWFL TEAM SELECTION – ROUND 13

With just two more home and away matches to play in the South-eastern Women’s competition, the Coburg Women’s senior and development squads will look to continue their solid form as their first finals campaign approaches. 

The senior squad will see four inclusions for Friday night away trip to Tyabb, with Mia D’Agostino, Anna Morrow, Angel Georgallis and Kurtis Shine joining the line-up. D’Agostino was a late omission last week against Mornington due to illness, who was replaced by Tara Chetcuti, who will assume her place in the backline of the development team in their clash against the Warragul Industrials on Saturday. 

Eloise Gardner will be unavailable for the trip to Tyabb. 

For the development side, there will three inclusions for their top of the table clash with Warragul, with midfielders Isabella Hayes and Tylah Bell lacing up once again, replacing Morrow and Shine. 

The senior side scraped away with a comeback victory over Mornington last week, prevailing by 7 points, despite trailing at every change.  A BOG performance from midfielder Brittney Gray was the catalyst for the superb comeback, leading by example in and around the contest, resulting in a favourable inside 50 count, finishing 37-21 in the way of the Lions.

In a dominant performance at Piranha Park against Devon Meadows last Sunday, Mikayla Kotas stole the show, booting 5 goals in a 103-7 demolition.  Briana Yelland and Emma Chamberlain were among the best for Coburg. Chamberlain is a chance for a position in the senior squad, as she is listed as an emergency, alongside Hayes.
