2022 Jim Sullivan Night Award Winners

The 2022 Jim Sullivan Medal night saw four new Coburg life members, a 12th legend inductee and three maiden Best and Fairest victors.

Joining the esteemed group of life members is Arthur Athanasiou.  A dedicated member and long-time supporter of the club who has been a tremendous help over the past few years, particularly in 2019 and 2020.

Starting as a volunteer, Alex Morella was instrumental in managing the club’s membership, events and administration teams, before accepting a role at Champion Data. 

Co-captain Peter McEvoy will be awarded a life membership after a superb VFL career, spanning 9 years and 92 games.  McEvoy was our leading goal kicker on two occasions in 2017 and 2021, finishing with 121 goals.  He joined the leadership group at Coburg in 2019, leading the side alongside Ryan Exon

The final life membership to be awarded on the night was to Kristian De Pasquale

Laurie Burt is our 12th legend to receive the honour at Coburg. 

The Senior Leading Goalkicker award was awarded to Teagan Brett, booting 23 goals from 13 games in 2022.

Hayley Baber was awarded with the 2022 Vicki Cleary Most Courageous award. 

Voted by senior coach Liam Cavanagh, the 2022 Senior Best Finals player award went to Regina Said

Amy Duguid was awarded the 2022 Team Spirit Award, as voted by our players and coaches. 

Emma Chamberlain was voted the 2022 Development Team Best Finals player, voted by development coach Blake Wadley. 

The Trevor Price Team Spirit award for the Men’s side was awarded to Nathan Boucher.

Peter McEvoy was awarded the Nick Carnell Leadership award. 

The Phil Cleary Rising Star award, akin to the Rising Star award at AFL level, was awarded to standout 1st year player Flynn Gentile.

Winning the Eric Lines Players MVP for 2022, voted by the playing group was awarded to Jack Maibaum

The David Starbuck Most Determined player was awarded to young gun Braedyn Gillard

A player who never backs down from a contest, Tom Silvestro, was awarded with the  Jeff Angwin Most Courageous player award. 

There was a tie for the 2022 leading goalkicking award, with Josh D’Intinosante and Edyn Sibbald.

The 2022 Terrace Supporter Group player of the year award went to Mitch Podhajski

In 3rd place for the Development team Best and Fairest was defender Tara Chetcuti (76).

Finishing 2nd was Alana Wenban, polling (83) votes. 

The inaugural winner of the Development team Best and Fairest is Mikayla Kotas (87). 

Maddie Edwards (92) took out the senior B&F ahead of Brittney Gray (83) and Claire Cashman (82).

Jesse Corigliano took out his first Jim Sullivan medal on 106 votes. Jack Maibaum (105) was one vote behind while Braedyn Gillard (104) rounded out the podium.
