Coburg Football Club 2017 Practice Match Fixtures announced!

2017-practice-matchesAhead of the Coburg Football Club’s 2016-17 Preseason campaign which is beginning soon, we are pleased to have finalized our practice matches prior to round one of season 2017, where we play three of finalist of the 2016 season.

Friday March the 3rd will see the Lions play reigning premiers Footscray at the VU Whitten Oval in a night match, beginning at 6PM. This will be the first time where the two sides have played each other at the venue following Footscray’s re-introduction into the competition in season 2014.

With an Intra-club match likely to follow the week after, the Lions will have its annual foray into its old temporary home ground in Highgate Reserve, where on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday the 17th 18th or 19th of March they will play host to Williamstown, while on either the Saturday or Sunday the 25th or 26th of March they will play host to Werribee, once again for the second consecutive season. Matches are due to begin at normal times, with Development beginning at 11am while Seniors begins at 2pm.

Finally, Sunday the 2nd of April will see the Lions play host to Port Melbourne at Piranha Park for the first time in 2017, again with the standard times of 11am and 2pm for Development and Seniors respectively. With the season starting for numerous local metropolitan leagues across Melbourne the previous day, this is a great opportunity for some Sunday local football to be enjoyed.
